Vibrant basses, countless lighting effects around huge video walls and confetti cannons that shoot out thousands of colorful scraps of paper – the Frankfurt show of Imagine Dragons starts spectacularly.
The audience had them with it from the first second. And with her frontman Dan Reynolds. He thanked the audience directly – for being there. Again and again he encouraged to sing along, clapping and dancing. And nobody would say that twice. The festival hall has cooked.
Reynolds himself whirled the stage all evening – power program. At some point, the sweaty white tank top also fell off. The rest of the evening he sang with a well-toned bare upper body. This was especially pleasing to many women, as they later told us at FFH-Mikro.
In their show, the four guys from Las Vegas packed all their hits, the new and the older ones: “Believer”, “Thunder”, “Demons”, “Whatever It Takes”. On their good mood song “On Top Of The World” it rained many white balloons from the sky. The whole hall celebrated with enthusiasm.
But even the soft tones convinced. For some songs they exchanged the big stage with a small pedestal in the middle of the audience. What was particularly positive, even the fans: There was no program unwound. The four were with heart and soul, interpreted songs differently and campaigned for love, fairness and tolerance among themselves.
The finale: A bang with a lot of guts – in the truest sense of the word. Singer Dan Reynolds beat a big transparent drum at the Radioactive. A colorful light show plunged the hall into different colors. The confetti and smoke cannons gave everything again.
The Imagine Dragons in Frankfurt – that was two hours full throttle!
